Boiler installation in Camborne
We install and replace boilers throughout Camborne. The important part happens before anything is fitted: working out what output the house actually needs, whether the existing pipework and radiators can carry it, and what the flue can lawfully do.

Why boiler installation in Camborne is its own job
Camborne was built by hard-rock mining, and it was built in granite. The rows of miners' cottages that make up much of the town are handsome, solid and extremely unlike the cavity-walled housing most heating design assumes — which has direct consequences for how a system here needs to be sized and installed.
The property here
Dense Victorian terraced cottages through the centre, Tuckingmill and Beacon, running into the shared Pool corridor towards Redruth, with post-war housing at the edges and scattered smallholdings out towards Barripper, Troon and Praze-an-Beeble.
What catches people out in Camborne
Solid granite walls with no cavity lose heat at a rate that catches out any radiator schedule calculated on modern assumptions, so a great many Camborne houses are running radiators that were never big enough and a boiler being blamed for it. We do a proper room-by-room heat loss calculation before quoting a replacement rather than matching whatever output was there before. Physically, too, these are tight houses — small kitchens, original chimney breasts, and service routes that have to be found rather than assumed.
Boiler installation in Camborne — what actually matters
Replacements in terraced houses
Moving a boiler in a terrace is often the right call — out of the kitchen, shorter flue, better pipe routes — and it is nearly always the option nobody mentions. It costs more on the day and pays back in efficiency and in never having to work around it again.
Sizing for solid granite walls
A granite cottage with no cavity loses heat at a rate that standard assumptions badly underestimate. Size the boiler and radiators to the actual fabric and the house is warm; size it to a table and the occupant spends fifteen years wondering why it never quite gets there.
What the old system leaves behind
Fitting a new boiler onto decades of accumulated system debris is the fastest way to void a warranty. In these houses the flush, the filter and often some re-piping are not upsells — they are the difference between the appliance lasting and not.

How it works
- 1
Survey — in person
We look at the house, the pipework, the radiators, the flue route and the gas supply. A boiler cannot be specified properly from a web form and we do not pretend otherwise.
- 2
Heat loss calculation
Room by room, so the boiler and the radiators are sized to the building. This is the step that gets skipped, and it is the step that determines your running costs for the next fifteen years.
- 3
A fixed written quote
Itemised, with the appliance named and the warranty stated. No pressure, and it stays valid long enough for you to think about it.
- 4
Installation
Typically one to two days for a straight replacement, longer for a conversion. Dust sheets, and the heating back on the same evening wherever possible.
- 5
Handover and registration
We commission it, show you how it works, register the warranty and notify building control. You get the paperwork before we leave.
What it costs
Every installation is quoted individually after a survey, at a fixed price. We do not publish a price list for boilers because a number without a survey behind it is a number that changes on the day — which is precisely the practice that gives this trade its reputation.

If yours is not here, send us the form and ask. We would rather spend five minutes answering a question than have you book something you did not need.
How long does a boiler installation take?
A straightforward like-for-like swap is usually a day, sometimes two. Moving the boiler, converting from a back boiler, or changing system type takes longer and we will tell you honestly at quote stage.
Do I need a magnetic filter?
Yes, and we fit one as standard. Most manufacturer warranties now require one, and it is the cheapest thing you can do to protect the heat exchanger.
Should I switch to a combi?
Not always. Combis suit smaller properties with one bathroom and good mains pressure. If you have two bathrooms, poor incoming pressure or several people showering at once, a system boiler and cylinder is usually the better answer — and plenty of firms will sell you the combi anyway.
What about a heat pump instead?
For an off-grid property currently on oil or LPG, a heat pump is genuinely worth modelling. For a solid-walled granite cottage with no insulation, it usually is not, yet. We will give you a straight answer rather than a sales pitch either way.
Do you cover the villages around Camborne as well as the town?
Yes — Pool, Tuckingmill, Beacon, Barripper, Troon, Praze-an-Beeble, Penponds and Brea are all part of our normal Camborne patch, along with the smaller places between them. If you are not sure whether we reach you, send the form and ask.
